Please label everything with your child's name. Children will get dirty and wet as they participate freely in the program. It is recommended that comfortable, manageable, easy to wash play clothes are worn. Extra changes of clothes are essential for every child.
Please advise Preschool of you would like your child to celebrate their birthday at Preschool. We provide fruit juice iceblocks or fruit jelly cups to your child's class to celebrate.
The Preschool has a policy of administering only to children with chronic conditions who have a medical Action Plan - asthma, allergies, epilepsy, etc. or ongoing medical conditions. The only exception to this being the administration ov Ventolin or Epipen as a first aid measure in the case of a medical emergency.
Visitors with educational shows are organised at Preschool on a term basis based on the children's interests at the time. We usually have one visiting educational performer per term and one excursion per year for which costs are added to term fees.
The library is free and available to all families attending the Preschool. Volunteer "Librarians" run our library and the children can borrow books on a fortnightly basis during their Preschool day. Children must have a library bag in order to borrow books. A Preschool library bag is included in the Enrolment Pack. The Preschool also has a Parent Library.
If your child has a minor accident at preschool, the teacher will complete an accident form explaining the incident and action taken. For accidents of a more serious nature, attempts will be made to contact the parents or emergency contacts whilst seeking medical assistance.
As an Educational facility, we are committed to providing a healthy and safe food experience for all children. Children's lunches are refrigerated and due to safe food rules, WE ARE UNABLE TO HEAT FOOD.
If you would like to provide warm food for your child, this must be in a THERMOS which will be served to your child at Morning Tea.
We are a NUDE FOOD PRESCHOOL and encourage families to consider the health and environmental impact of heavily processed and packaged foods.
This means children are unable to bring any food containing nuts or nut products e.g. peanut butter, nutella, most muesli bars.
Parent involvement in the Preschool is encouraged, as the ultimate responsibility for administering the Preschool rests with families - the users of the service. It also gives families the opportunity to be involved in discussions and decisions which will affect you and your child, and the long term future directions of the Preschool.
The management Committee is elected at the AGM which is held before the end of March each year. A list of current members of the committee and their contact details is displayed on the Committee Noticeboard.
Listed below are the Management Committee positions:
The Committee holds bi-monthly meetings to discuss items such as:
The meetings are held at the Preschool and all parents are invited to attend these meetings. The date and time of the next meeting is displayed on the Committee Noticeboard, as are the minutes of the previous meeting.
In additional, general meetings are held three times a year.
Tours of the Preschool are held weekly at Tuesday 10am and Friday 10am.
In order not to disturb the children's learning, these are limited to 5 families each Friday.

We absolutely love all that North Ryde Community Preschool has to offer. The dedicated and nurturing educators really do personalise the experience for every child that is welcomed through the gate. The gorgeous indoor and outdoor areas are such a fun and diverse place (bike track, sandpit, mud patch, gardens); my daughter, Lucy (4yo), loves explaining all the different activities that are on offer each day at preschool and bringing home the crafts that she is so proud to have created all on her own! All of the staff are so generous with their time and really make our family feel a sense of belonging there.
Amongst the many qualities that make North Ryde Community Preschool a special place, is the love and respect of the land and the traditional custodians of it, that is instilled from an early age. When travelling through the northern rivers, our 5 year old stopped us as we entered a rainforest and paused to whisper a gentle “thank you” to the elders to which this land belonged. In a busy world where screens buzz and tech beckons for the attention of our kids, the still, calm acknowledgment and respect for nature and those who have gone before them is something that is not only taught, but instilled at NRCP on a daily basis, through outdoor play and meaningful acknowledgment of country. We are so grateful for these early values and attitudes of thankfulness and respect that our children will carry for life. NRCP - what a special place!
My children were lucky enough to attend NRCP. My first child had quite bad separation anxiety. The staff were very caring and built up her resilience and confidence, enabling her to thoroughly enjoy and participate in all aspects of the preschool program. My second child has Autism. He was provided with exceptional care. The teachers were so supportive and invested in helping him not only progress but to belong and be a valued member of the preschool. I can’t recommend this preschool enough and I am very thankful to all of the teachers who made preschool such a positive experience for my children.
We were lucky enough to have our son attend NRCP. Being our first and only child having a positive start to “schooling” was important to us. What we didn’t realise was how loving, nurturing & supportive the preschool and community really was. Throughout our journey we felt educators became our sons “second family”, the preschool a home away from home. Our son was treated as an individual and always made to feel valued, welcome and important. We are so thankful this was our welcome to the schooling experience and can’t thank NRCP enough for all they have done.
The team at NRCP are so caring, engaged, enthusiastic and creative. It has been such a gift to watch our 3 children grow over the years under the care of NRCP. In particular we have loved hearing how when one of our children expresses an interest in something (whether that be fire trucks, baking or science experiments), NRCP help create the space to explore and expand the kids knowledge on that topic through a range of activities. They don’t just stick to a rigid curriculum- they let the kids interests help shape and guide what they do on a day to day basis.
We are so grateful to have had both our children attend North Ryde Community Preschool. Our son Mason, who currently attends 3 days a week absolutely loves it - preschool days are his best days! As parents, we have always felt at ease that our children are in the best hands, with a fantastic team of loving, compassionate and professional educators. North Ryde Community Preschool truly is a special place!
