North Ryde Community Preschool was established as an inclusive educational facility for children of 3-5 years of age and their families.
This commitment to Inclusion of ALL children has recently been strengthened through the creation of an innovative Special Needs program facilitated by the opening of a new 3rd classroom in January 2024.
Family and community involvement is viewed as an essential part of the Preschool operation and parents have an opportunity to be involved on a number of levels including Management Committee positions and daily roster duties.
North Ryde Community Preschool is staffed by University and TAFE trained teachers who embrace and extend each child’s individual learning style and journey.
We encourage all our children to appreciate the strengths, uniqueness, and diversity of others through an inclusive antibias curriculum and environment.
Our Director has further cemented the Preschool's message of inclusivity through the creation of 2 picture books - ALINA ALL ALONE (which deals with the ever increasing incidence of childhood anxiety and creating resilience in children) and ALINA AND THE NIGHT WISHES (which depicts a Preschooler's perception of disability). Both books are available for purchase on Amazon.

At North Ryde Community Preschool we provide a varied learning environment for 3-5 year olds. Our dedicated and committed Educators offer their diverse experience and a positive, nurturing approach to running our programs and teaching the children.
We are committed to providing a safe educational environment for all, attending to all children's needs, allowing them to be heard, be respected and be an integral part of the decision making process.
Storypark is the online platform by which we communicate with families. It is a unique, child-centred app that allows us to plan and program individually for children.
Storypark can be accessed by families at any time and families are encouraged to view and comment on their child's stories or individual child notes.
Our rooms are Creators (Room 1), Explorers (Room 2) and Discoverers (Room 3). Each room has its own set of learning stations and equipment which is not replicated in the other room.
Children are encouraged to move between the rooms in order to choose experiences which best suit them and their interests. Class groups swap rooms each term, so that each child is exposed to new experiences.
Children love to play and be active. It doesn’t have to be a structured sport – anything that gets them up and moving will do. However, many of our gross motor planning is based on the Fundamental Movement Skills introduced by the Health Kids NSW program - as is our commitment to health eating.
Children can learn new skills, have fun, play and develop self-confidence by spending time in the garden tending plants and growing their own food. Also exposes children to concepts of maths, science, literacy and communication.
The ability to be creative is vital to the success of our children. Mastering skills, completing art projects and learning to express themselves in new ways helps kids gain confidence and perseverance.
Art has been recognised as one of the '100 languages of children'. It is a universal, all ages means of expression, where any child can feel the satisfaction of success and self expression.
Visitors with educational shows are organised at Preschool on a term basis based on the children's interests at the time. We usually have one visiting educational performer per term and one excursion per year for which costs are added to term fees.
At North Ryde Community Preschool we prepare our children for the next stage in their lives and to become active contributors to their world.
Through a play-based curriculum of unique and holistic education programs, we nurture each child’s strengths and individual learning style whilst providing engaging opportunities which encourage children to flourish and grow.
Our environment is regarded as the third teacher (child, staff, environment). We utilise real tools, utensils, equipment and experiences to reflect our belief that children are responsible learners.
At North Ryde Community Preschool, we are committed to preparing your child for the next step in life. Our quality early learning programs help children build the social-emotional, language and thinking skills they need to be successful in school and life.
Children are the centre of everything we do. Our qualified team is committed to working with you to provide the ideal individualised learning environment for your child in unison with your family - who will be asked to assist us in setting goals and being part of your child’s educational journey.
Through interactive and engaging programs such as Macquarie University PRE-LIT and social skills programs such as PALS, hand in hand with our daily routine and rituals, each child is encouraged to become a confident communicator, socially adept at letting others know their needs and wants and making connections with adults, other children and their community.
Tours of the Preschool are held weekly at Tuesday 10am and Friday 10am.
In order not to disturb the children's learning, these are limited to 2 families each Friday.
Due to health and safety restrictions, tours will be limited to ONE parent and ONE child from each family. Parents are to be fully covid vaccinated (and demonstrate proof of) , mask wearing and both child and parent are to show no signs or symptoms of illness.

We absolutely love all that North Ryde Community Preschool has to offer. The dedicated and nurturing educators really do personalise the experience for every child that is welcomed through the gate. The gorgeous indoor and outdoor areas are such a fun and diverse place (bike track, sandpit, mud patch, gardens); my daughter, Lucy (4yo), loves explaining all the different activities that are on offer each day at preschool and bringing home the crafts that she is so proud to have created all on her own! All of the staff are so generous with their time and really make our family feel a sense of belonging there.
Amongst the many qualities that make North Ryde Community Preschool a special place, is the love and respect of the land and the traditional custodians of it, that is instilled from an early age. When travelling through the northern rivers, our 5 year old stopped us as we entered a rainforest and paused to whisper a gentle “thank you” to the elders to which this land belonged. In a busy world where screens buzz and tech beckons for the attention of our kids, the still, calm acknowledgment and respect for nature and those who have gone before them is something that is not only taught, but instilled at NRCP on a daily basis, through outdoor play and meaningful acknowledgment of country. We are so grateful for these early values and attitudes of thankfulness and respect that our children will carry for life. NRCP - what a special place!
My children were lucky enough to attend NRCP. My first child had quite bad separation anxiety. The staff were very caring and built up her resilience and confidence, enabling her to thoroughly enjoy and participate in all aspects of the preschool program. My second child has Autism. He was provided with exceptional care. The teachers were so supportive and invested in helping him not only progress but to belong and be a valued member of the preschool. I can’t recommend this preschool enough and I am very thankful to all of the teachers who made preschool such a positive experience for my children.
We were lucky enough to have our son attend NRCP. Being our first and only child having a positive start to “schooling” was important to us. What we didn’t realise was how loving, nurturing & supportive the preschool and community really was. Throughout our journey we felt educators became our sons “second family”, the preschool a home away from home. Our son was treated as an individual and always made to feel valued, welcome and important. We are so thankful this was our welcome to the schooling experience and can’t thank NRCP enough for all they have done.
The team at NRCP are so caring, engaged, enthusiastic and creative. It has been such a gift to watch our 3 children grow over the years under the care of NRCP. In particular we have loved hearing how when one of our children expresses an interest in something (whether that be fire trucks, baking or science experiments), NRCP help create the space to explore and expand the kids knowledge on that topic through a range of activities. They don’t just stick to a rigid curriculum- they let the kids interests help shape and guide what they do on a day to day basis.
We are so grateful to have had both our children attend North Ryde Community Preschool. Our son Mason, who currently attends 3 days a week absolutely loves it - preschool days are his best days! As parents, we have always felt at ease that our children are in the best hands, with a fantastic team of loving, compassionate and professional educators. North Ryde Community Preschool truly is a special place!
